Free ski shuttles, modern lifts and state-of-the-art snowmaking equipment - long waits are now a thing of the past. Obertauern, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Flachau, Schladming - these focal points of winter sports are also within easy reach of us.
Snow-Kiting
Elegantly skiing along propelled by the power of wind, or gliding through valley bottoms blanketed deep in snow - skiers and snowboarders are about to discover a whole new dimension to their sport. Snow-kiting can be picked up quickly under expert instruction, and there’s nowhere better than the spacious countryside of Obertauern. We would be glad to set up snow-kiting lessons for you at the snow-kite school in Obertauern.
Cross-Country Skiing
Cross-country fun at its finest…. for Radstadt boasts one of the biggest and most beautiful cross-country ski areas in the entire Amadé Sports World. Passing right in front of the Hotel “Zum Jungen Römer”, you head out onto a network of 160 km superbly groomed trails. At the head of them all, the Tauern Trail, taking you from Radstadt to Untertauern or Altenmarkt, Zauchensee, Reitdorf and Flachau. The three high trails, the Gnadenalm (12km), Rossbrand (16km) and Obertauern (17km) trails, promise a very special, fun-filled experience until well into springtime.
Sledding & More
A winter’s day and quiet moments such as these .. they still exist, you simply have to know where to find them. Glistening snow, the crackle of an open fire, the mulled wine warming you from the core. Sledding expeditions, punctuated by a stop-off at an area ski lodge. Winter holidays beyond compare. Sleigh rides, horseback riding through the snow, ice skating, ice stock (Alpine version of curling), ensuring that boredom never even rears its head! And the absolute highlight since last winter - our newly constructed, 6 km-long floodlit sledding hill on the Königslehen. (directly across from the hotel).
